Referee and Coaches Registrar

The Club Referee and Coaches Registrar is responsible for ensuring the Barracudas Club’s coaches and referees are appropriately registered and accredited. He/She coordinates training opportunities for these volunteers.

Responsible to:
The Club Referee and Coaches Registrar is responsible to the President and Management Committee and reports directly with the Junior Coordinators and Head Coach

Responsibilities and Duties
The Referee and Coaches Registrar is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the recruitment of referees and coaches;
  • Recording the attendance at accredited training;
  • Following up on mentoring hours and assessments of coaches and referees;
  • Controlling copies of assessments and sending to WPQ;
  • Ensuring all coaches, managers and referees over 18 years of age have valid Blue Cards;
  • Keeping a register of Coaches and referee qualifications;
  • Promote training and development opportunities for coaches and referees;
  • Works with Junior Coordinators to ensure coaches and referees are available for WPQ and BWPI competitions;
  • Liaise with BWPI and WPQ regarding courses, accreditation and paperwork.

Knowledge and Skills Required
Ideally the Referees and Coaching Registrar is someone who is:

  • Well organised;
  • Can communicate effectively

Estimated Time Commitment Required & Period of Appointment
The estimated time commitment required 2 hours per month leading up to the season, then half hour per month during the season
